The Preidlhof — run as the brand “Luxury DolceVita Resort” — lies in Naturns near Merano, on the southern side of the Alps in South Tyrol. The Ladurner family has been host for a good 60 years; the house has for years been consistently positioned as an adults-only refuge and belongs to the Belvita Leading Wellness Hotels, the Preferred Hotels & Resorts and the Dolce Vita Hotels. The 5,500 m² spa was awarded the European Health & Spa Award as “Best Hotel SPA in Europe” in 2024 — the second award of this kind within a few years.
The spa architecture carries two large structures: the six-storey Sauna Tower with 18 steam, relaxation and sweat attractions and the Mediterranean Water Wonder World with 14 different outdoor, indoor and whirlpools (30–36 °C). Add a medical spa of its own under medical direction, a “transformational spa” programme and a culinary stage rated with 3 Gault-Millau toques. Preidl Spa — 5,500 m² with its own thermal water
The Preidl Spa has a thermal spring of its own: healing water from 200 m depth — from the Bad Kochenmoos thermal spring — is played out in the thermal pool and some tub treatments. The spa world comprises 14 indoor, outdoor and whirlpools (30–36 °C), the 500 m² infinity rooftop spa, a snow room at -10 °C and the Sunset Sauna at 90 °C. The spa operates continuously from 11:00 to 23:00 — an unusually long daily opening for South Tyrol.
Sauna Tower — six floors, 18 attractions
Vertical sauna architecture is the signature of the house: six floors with 18 steam baths, saunas and relaxation attractions are spread over the Sauna Tower. Each level carries a thematic choreography of its own — olive sauna, five-elements sauna, Schwarzbrenner sauna, show sauna with staged infusions — and the sequence of floors is closed by the White Silence Lounge for the after-effect.
Transformational spa — inner balance as a programme
Besides the classic à-la-carte treatment menu the house runs its own “transformational spa” programme with thematic retreats: detox, sleep coaching, mental resilience, hormone balance. The sessions combine bodywork, coaching conversations and energetic treatment methods — curated by an international team of therapists.
Preidl Med Spa — health checks and aesthetic medicine
In the Preidl Med Spa doctors work with diagnostic and therapeutic offerings: comprehensive health checks, aesthetic medicine, individual health packages and, in cooperation with the Brixsana private clinic, targeted medical treatment pathways. An unusual depth for a wellness house — and a clear signal towards longevity.
Gourmet cuisine with 3 Gault-Millau toques
The kitchen carries three Gault-Millau toques and works deliberately South Tyrolean-Mediterranean. A breakfast buffet, a lunch buffet with live show cooking and in the evening a seven-course DolceVita gourmet dinner are part of the inclusive service. Add a vinotheque of its own with more than 400 labels — membership of the “Vinum Hotels Südtirol” included — and a sommelier who curates tastings for house guests.
Suites and an adults-only atmosphere
The house runs a pure suite concept in the upmarket segment. Adults only as the house concept — no children in the house, no family areas; instead honeymoon, romance and “Preidl Secrets” categories. In the house's own “Sleep Well System” the rooms work with sound insulation, blackout glazing and a ten-pillow menu.
Naturns near Merano — the southern side of the Alps
Naturns lies in the Vinschgau, around 15 km west of Merano, on the sunny southern side of the Alps. The Mediterranean climate zone of South Tyrol begins here — with the Merano high-altitude trail as one of the most famous hiking paths in the region and short ways to the Texel group and Stelvio nature parks. Vespa, convertible and quad tours are bookable as the house's own “Dolce Vita” programme.

The Ladurner family has run the house for a good 60 years as a generational hosting project. In the hotel itself guests are often welcomed personally by the family — a constant that has become rare in a five-star resort of this size.
Its own thermal water from 200 m depth
The spa is fed with healing water from the house's own Bad Kochenmoos thermal spring — drawn from 200 metres depth. The thermal pool and individual tub treatments use the thermal water directly; a rare spa resource in the Vinschgau.
