The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has stood since 1858 on the Maximilianstraße — the grand avenue King Maximilian II had laid out as Munich's boulevard. At his wish the house arose as the “most distinguished hotel in the city”, not far from the royal court; August Schimon opened his “Hotel zu den vier Jahreszeiten” on 25 July 1858. To this day it is one of Munich's first addresses — and combines the history of the house with a city spa above the rooftops.

On the top floor of the house lies the wellness area with a heated indoor pool (12.5 metres), a sauna (85 °C), a steam bath and a gym — plus treatment rooms for massages and beauty treatments. Through the windows the view reaches over the rooftops of Munich's old town. The day spa can be booked by guests from outside the house too.
