The heart of this stay is not the spa day but an evening at Oswald's Gourmetstube — the house's own restaurant of head chef Thomas Gerber, awarded two stars by the Guide Michelin. Whoever would otherwise have to hunt for a reservation at a two-star house in Munich, Berlin or Hamburg gets one here without travelling to the address — and with the practical advantage of walking back only to your own hotel wing after the menu. Two nights with the Landromantik pampering board flank the gourmet evening; on the second evening the regular kitchen serves a five-course choice menu in the restaurant Galerie.

The hotel is a family-run four-star-superior house, a member of Relais & Châteaux, in Kaikenried on the Bavarian Forest Nature Park. During the day the roughly 4,000 m² spa area is open — with a rooftop pool (5 × 15 m, 32 °C), an aroma steam bath, a Finnish sauna and a wellness garden. One special point for planning: the package is bookable only from Tuesday to Sunday, and tables in the starred restaurant are limited — an early reservation is worth it.
