Waldorf Astoria Berlin: greetings from the front desk
In 2013 the Waldorf Astoria Berlin brought the New York classic to the City West — into the Zoofenster tower on the Breitscheidplatz, within sight of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and a few steps from the Kurfürstendamm and the Zoological Garden. Behind the art-deco-inspired façade lies, with the Guerlain Spa, the first spa of the Parisian house of Guerlain in Germany.
Guerlain Spa — 1,000 m² above the city. On the fifth floor of the tower the spa extends over 1,000 m²: five treatment rooms, a cloud-shaped pool, a whirlpool, a sauna and a steam bath, a terrace, a five-senses hydrotherapy with a Vichy shower, a 24-hour fitness area and a Guerlain boutique. It is the first and so far only Guerlain Spa in Germany and a multiple winner at the World Luxury Spa Awards — city wellness with a Parisian signature.
City West as location. Around the Breitscheidplatz beats the heart of old West Berlin: the Kurfürstendamm and the Tauentzienstraße with their shops, the KaDeWe, the zoo and the Zoologischer Garten station. Whoever seeks shopping, city life and a premium spa under one roof is ideally placed here.
Guerlain Spa — 1,000 m² on the fifth floor
The Guerlain Spa of the Waldorf Astoria is the first of its kind in Germany. On 1,000 m² on the fifth floor lie five treatment rooms, a cloud-shaped pool, a whirlpool, a sauna and a steam bath, a terrace as well as a five-senses hydrotherapy with a Vichy shower; a 24-hour fitness area and a Guerlain boutique complement the offering. The treatments follow the rituals of the Parisian house of Guerlain — from facial treatments via massages to spa programmes lasting several hours. The area has been honoured several times at the World Luxury Spa Awards.
Rooms and suites
The rooms and suites are kept in the art deco style that runs through the whole house — warm woods, clear lines, generous bathrooms. From the upper floors of the tower the view reaches over the City West, the zoo and the Tiergarten.
Restaurant & bar
The house restaurant ROCA combines international cuisine with grill specialities; the Lang Bar on the ground floor quotes the New York Waldorf Astoria tradition and counts among the elegant bar addresses of the City West. Cuisine in the style of the house — classic, metropolitan, without gimmickry.
