Leisure at the Hotel Esperanto
The baroque town of Fulda and the Fulda country hold plenty in store between the “wellness sessions”. Whoever loves architecture and history begins with a guided tour through the picturesque centre of the baroque town — the sights of the town centre are within walking distance and reached quite at ease. Cafés, bars, restaurants and museums worth seeing line up one after another; shopping friends will find what they are looking for in the Emaillierwerk department store as well as in the small regional shops. The active are by no means short-changed either: from the centre you quickly reach nature, where numerous hiking and cycling routes wait. A cycle tour along the Vulkanradweg or through the Milseburg tunnel can quite well be counted as a wellness experience; things get a little livelier on a canoe tour on the Fulda. The Esperanto team is glad to advise you individually on excursions and activities during your stay. Musical highlights are provided for too: year after year the “Musical Sommer” brings musicals with a historical background to Fulda's stages. TIP: The Hotel Esperanto offers its own “Musical Sommer” arrangements.

Hotel Esperanto: greetings from the front desk
A wellness oasis in the middle of the town. Only 150 m from the main station of the baroque town you find an ambience that does full honour to its name. The combination of the most varied cultures can be felt not only in the luxurious spa area; the unique restaurant concepts of the hotel live the Esperanto idea too. The breathtaking view from the Brazilian grill restaurant “Toro Negro” finally convinces every guest to stay loyal to the Hotel Esperanto in future.
At the Hotel Esperanto people and cultures meet in a humanistic and comfortable atmosphere. For relaxation after a long journey, for leisure after a strenuous day, for relaxing and enjoying. It is a meeting point for conferences, celebrations and well-being.
Esperanto is cosmopolitan. It belongs to all the people who speak it; it builds bridges from one culture to another. Multilingual, multimedia, multicultural. The basic idea of Esperanto is the humanistic idea, the creation of a joyful world in which it is a pleasure to live. A world in which travelling is a sparkling pleasure full of discoveries. We take up this idea. In the Beauty & Spa Esperanto this mood can be felt and experienced. An exquisite ambience and luxurious comfort make the Beauty & Spa Esperanto, on more than 4,000 m², a very special place of relaxation. Vitalising massages, soothing facial and body treatments, fairy-tale care ceremonies in our sauna and brine landscape as well as rest rooms and oases of silence promise pure recreation. The whole team wishes you much pleasure in discovering and looks forward to welcoming you soon as a guest.

Frequently asked questions about the hotel
How big is the Beauty & Spa Esperanto?
More than 4,000 m² — an extraordinary dimension for a city hotel: seven saunas and steam baths (Japanese sauna, Finnish sauna, kelo sauna, svedana, brine bath, caldarium, hammam), two large pools (sports pool 25 × 21 m, non-swimmers' pool 10 × 12.5 m), a whirlpool and ten treatment cabins.
The rest rooms have a headphone connection with its own music selection at every lounger — and the “wellness lift” brings guests from every floor directly into the spa.
What are the dream baths?
Three staged bathing ceremonies as the signature of the house. The “Asia dream bath for two” is the best known: around 50 minutes in the rose-petal bath, with candlelight, rose scent, sparkling wine and fresh fruit. Alternatives are the skin-firming algae bath with minerals and trace elements as well as the Venus bath.
What is behind the name “Esperanto”?
Esperanto is the planned language developed in 1887 by Ludwik Lejzer Zamenhof with the ambition of creating understanding between cultures. The hotel carries this idea through its whole concept: the restaurants bear names from different language areas (El Jardin, Toro Negro, Rustico, Bodega, Buena Vista, Piazza D'oro), the sauna world combines Finnish, Japanese, Turkish and sweat-bath traditions, and the house understands itself as a place of encounter.
Upgrade Happy Sunday
Bookable as an extension to any arrangement with a Sunday departure: check-out until 18:00 instead of 10:00, the Esperanto Sunday brunch instead of the regular breakfast, spa use until 23:00, car-park use over the whole stay. Surcharge € 29.50 per person in a double room (€ 54.00 in a single room).
Where do you eat at the Esperanto?
The main restaurant “El Jardin” (with a garden terrace and the Sunday Esperanto brunch, reservation required), during the day the café bar “Piazza D'oro”, in the evening a choice of the beer parlour “Rustico”, the Spanish wine cellar “Bodega” or the grill restaurant “Toro Negro” on the 6th floor, where the churrasqueiro cuts the meat skewers directly at the table.
The finale is the cocktail bar “Buena Vista” — with probably the most beautiful view over Fulda.
How is the Esperanto located — and what does Fulda offer?
150 metres from the main station; the sights of the baroque town — cathedral, city palace, orangery — lie within walking distance. Whoever wants to get out between spa sessions: the Vulkanradweg and the Milseburg tunnel for cyclists, canoe tours on the Fulda, in summer the “Musical Sommer” with the hotel's own arrangements.
